Many pet owners will be faced with the decision of whether or not to bring their dog along as they travel. It may be very tempting to bring your best friend along with you on your travels, but each dog’s particular temperament, as well as any illnesses or physical impairments, need to be taken into consideration when making travel arrangements for your pet. A pre-trip visit with the vet is advisable for any owner traveling long distances with their dog; just a quick check to make sure they have all their vaccinations and assess their overall health can avoid unwanted issues. Crate and Rotate

Perhaps you acquired same-sex pit bulls that, upon maturation, no longer tolerate each other. Maybe you have a multi-dog household, and two or more of your dogs have recently been fighting. Or you recently added a pit bull to your home, and it just isn’t working out with the other dogs. Whatever the reason, by employing the use of ‘Crate and Rotate’ in your home you will be able to safely manage your pets and maintain them in your home. A pet is a lifetime commitment; re-homing should be a last resort. Dog aggression is common among Pit Bulls and other bully breed dogs, and it is important to recognize this behavior for what it really is, and accept the reality that this breed has selectively been bred to be aggressive towards other dogs. Finding a boarding kennel for your Pit Bull or bully breed dog can be a daunting, seemingly impossible, task. Do not lose hope. You can find a safe, Pitbull and bully friendly boarding facility. The best way to approach finding a boarding kennel for your dog is to first compile a list of local kennels. When gathering the locations for your list, be sure to record email addresses and phone numbers, as you will want to contact all of the places on the list. I find that often people under estimate the value of a good phone call. Making a phone call and asking some good starting questions will save you a trip to the boarding kennel in the beginning and in turn, you will save time. [Read more…]
