Pit Bull Hero – Pitbull Saves Family in Fire

May 11, 2011 by z3admin

Diamond, a 15 month old Pit Bull was given this year’s National Hero Dog award by the SPCA in Los Angeles.

Diamond showed this often misunderstood breed’s true colors during an apartment fire at the Steen residence last October. Diamond the Pit Bull not only stayed in the house with the Steen family’s oldest daughter when she was unable to escape, she actually laid on top of Sierra. By placing her body over top of Sierra she shielded her from fire, and remained in place even when it meant that she sustained burns on her own body. Sierra and Diamond were rescued by fire fighters, and have made a full recovery. [Read more…]

Verizon Pit Bull Commericial Ad

July 21, 2008 by z3admin

I really hope that Verizon has decided to pull their vicious Pit Bull ad before this article gets posted, and just in case they have succeeded in removing it from the web, I will break down the storyline for you (most recent working video below).  In the first shot we see a wannabe hipster kid standing on the opposite side of a fence for some sort of junkyard.  Next thing you know, hipster kid is jumping the fence into the auto wasteland to get closer to the object of the commercial, the LG Dare mobile phone.  The sleeping Pit Bulls that had been guarding the junkyard have now been awakened by the stranger’s presence, and charge toward him as he reaches to touch the screen of the phone.  The hipster is saved from mauling due to the fact that the dogs have run out of chain, and they are pulled back away from the kid as the commercial ends. For more information on this topic visit Startup Fiance to see the video and commentary.

BSL in Ohio – Fight It!

July 7, 2008 by z3admin

It seems that Ohio is well on its way to becoming the most BSL-friendly, and Pit Bull unfriendly, state in the US. Not only do they have a number of counties that outright ban the ownership of Pit Bull-type dogs (the designation is given by Animal Control Officers determining whether or not a dog is a “breed of dog commonly known as a Pit Bull), but they have passed an absolutely unconstitutional, and almost comically prejudice, law designating each and every Pitbull breed dog as a “vicious dog”. According to the lawmaking geniuses in Ohio, “By State Law all Pit Bull type dogs are automatically termed to be “vicious dogs”. It doesn’t matter if the dog is a service dog, guide dog, therapy dog etc. If it resembles a Pit Bull, it is vicious by default. As an owner of a “vicious dog” you are subjected to specific laws regarding liability insurance and how your dog must be confined.” [Read more…]

Tyler Eison – The Epitome of Irresponsible Ownership

June 2, 2008 by z3admin

While doing a general Google search for some Pit Bull related information, I came up on an article on the Village Voice website titled, “Man’s Best Defense, Tyler Eison turns pit bull pups into deadly weapons“. The article starts out with a quote directly from Tyler Eison, a real estate investor and auto dealer, stating, “These are not normal dogs. I like having very vicious, angry dogs. I’m going to teach them not to like other dogs. I’m going to agitate them, make them aggressive. That way when it’s about business, they are going to be serious.” [Read more…]

The Blue Pit Bull Myth

May 14, 2008 by z3admin

This is perhaps the biggest load of nonsense surrounding Pit Bulls. The truth is, blue Pit Bulls are not rare or unique, and in fact they are being bred like crazy by irresponsible backyard breeders looking to make extra cash. Merle, Blue and Silver varieties are all quite easy to find, and within the next few years the blue pits will be as common as the red nose Pits in local shelters – which is where most of them, unfortunately, will end up. Don’t believe me? Look in the pets section of any local classified section and you will find dozens of people breeding and selling these dogs. In fact, I would not be surprised if an ad for Blue Pit bulls appeared on this page somewhere while you were reading. [Read more…]
