@amy – Am I an ass because I am exactly right and you don’t like it, or because you wish you could have said these things to your nephew before offering to “clean up his mess”? If you actually took the time to read the article you would see that I am commending people like yourself for stepping up to take care of these animals when the people who adopted/purchased them were too short-sighted to see they would not be able to properly care for a pet.

OMG! You totally said everything I wanted to say to all these people who loves to make these kinds of excuses! EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! Kudos for you! I hope all these people can read this! People truely do not understand that these animals do indeed have feelings. When they’re so use to being with someone so long, they DO FEEL the abandonment when brought upon them.

not everyone is subject to your “careless owner’s own selfishness” philosophy. Sorry, but not all landlords are accommodating. And some of us are just trying to clean up other people’s messes…sorry my nephew did not understand homeowners insurance when he picked up this dog up at school. You are an ass!!!

Your rant mirrors my feelings exactly!!
These loyal animals would, in most cases, lay down their lives to protect their families!! In turn people decide to “get rid of them” because they “no longer match the furniture” or another reason equally stupid and selfish. To all these folks I say: I HOPE SOMEONE WANTS TO GET RID OF YOU SOMEDAY!!
